The Okomotive, or Vehicle, is the core element in FAR: Lone Sails and the Player Character must see to its needs; such as having enough fuel, installing spare parts, and repairing it. Objects can be fixed with hanging hooks inside the Okomotive. There is a hose at the top left inside to extinguish fires. The Okomotive was made by Henriksson and Sons as seen in one of the photographs showing their works.
Interior[]
Once the player character has reached the Okomotive at the beginning of the game, there are three important machine parts to have a look at: the speed dial, steam button and the energy container. Energy can be produced from small white boxes, which fill half of the Okomotive's energy; a bigger oil drum type of container, which fill the Okomotive up fully; and in an emergency, a large gas canister type of container, which also fills the Okomotive fully, but bursting the Okomotive into flames.
- Load the energy boxes at the rear inside the Okomotive and activate the button to fill the energy container.
- Start the engine and push the speed button.
- Watch the steam build up and release it, when it has built up enough.
- Watch the energy container and refill.
- Once the sails are in place, one can activate them to save energy and ride with the wind. To do so, leave the Okomotive with the lift and push the button outside on top.
Exterior[]
- A hook or anchor at the back and front.
- Sails, once they are installed. Get to the top of the Okomotive and press the sails button to go. Sails are the first upgrade one will receive in the game.
